Cross stitch is a calming and rhythmic craft where tiny stitches slowly come together to build an image. In this workshop, participants will create a playful embroidered journal cover while exploring patterns, color, and texture, stitch by stitch. A variety of motif options will be provided, including florals, ocean-inspired elements, playful icons, and initials for personalization.
What Participants Learn:
• Fundamentals of cross stitch
• How to read simple stitch patterns
• How to maintain stitch consistency
• How to manage thread tension
• Finishing techniques for stitching on journal covers
• Tips for planning motifs and personalization with initials
What Participants Take Home:
• One finished embroidered journal cover
• Mini cross stitch patterns
• Paper cross-stitch toolkit (including journal, embroidery threads, sewing needle, pattern sheet, practice sheet, and paper punching tool)
Notes: Journals will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own. Journals should be soft enough to punch holes into (hardcover journals will not work) while still being sturdy enough to hold stitching without tearing.
All supplies provided. No experienced needed. Everyone welcome (ages 18+).
